Michael and Jessica’s story began in the most unexpected place—on a boat off the sunny shores of Cabo during collage spring break. Both secretly having their eye on each other, they clicked instantly upon meeting, sharing laughs, conversation, and several mutual friends... but each assumed the other was already taken. So, despite the connection, the moment ended without exchanging numbers—though Michael couldn't help but wish he had asked for hers.

Fate had other plans. A few days later, Jessica followed Michael on Instagram, and Michael seized the chance to reconnect by sliding into her DMs. After a quick message exchange, he asked for her number, though he tried to play it cool. Convinced that Jessica must have other admirers, he held off on texting right away.

As luck would have it, their paths crossed again at a University of Texas Spurs event—this time with Jessica's mom by her side. Michael looking like the tall and handsome Texan that he is, dressed in his cowboy hat and boots, Jessica's mom insisted we "follow that cowboy"! The night was filled with good vibes and easy conversation, and Michael knew he couldn’t keep pretending to be nonchalant. Shortly after, he finally asked Jessica out for a gelato date.
